The Museum Teacher Fellowship Program trains educators to become local leaders in Holocaust education. The Museum Teacher Fellows assist the Museum in its mission to promote quality Holocaust education rooted in accurate history and responsible pedagogy.
During the fellowship term, Fellows complete the following:
- Professional development presentation: Organize and facilitate a presentation in their communities to share the Museum’s educational resources.
- Belfer National Conference for Holocaust Education participation: Attend the 2027 conference and provide support for the 2028 conference.
- Focus groups and resource reviewers: Serve as teaching experts during the Fellowship term, providing insights and information to the Museum.
Eligibility Requirements
- Be full-time middle or high school classroom teachers of history, social studies, foreign languages, English, journalism, or other related disciplines
- A minimum of five years of classroom experience
- Live and teach in the United States
- Attended the 2026 Belfer National Conference for Educators
- Teachers selected must prioritize the commitment to the Fellowship Program over other professional development opportunities during the 2027–28 fellowship term: June 2027–December 2028.
Program Benefits
- A $1,600 stipend to offset travel expenses for a trip to Washington, DC (hotel, daily transportation, and most meals provided)
- An honorarium, payable at the end of the Fellowship term, after completing all requirements
